Profiles
Welterweight
Championship: Jack Della Maddalena (c) (-210) vs.
Islam Makhachev (+175)
Jack
Della Maddalena (17-2, Australia, 29 years old): The
reigning welterweight champ captured the title six
months ago at UFC 315 via unanimous decision over
Belal Muhammad, stuffing all takedowns in a gritty
five-round war. On an 18-fight win streak since early
losses in 2016, he's a versatile striker with elite
conditioning, volume, and finishing power (12 KOs).
Recent wins include a late KO of Gilbert Burns and
decisions over Kevin Holland and Bassil Hafez. He's
trained with Alexander Volkanovski and Craig Jones
to shore up grappling.
Islam
Makhachev (26-1, Russia, 34 years old): Former lightweight
king with 15 straight wins (UFC record for most lightweight
title defenses at four), last loss in 2015. A Dagestani
grappling savant under Khabib Nurmagomedov's tutelage,
he's 14-0 in UFC with elite chain wrestling, ground
control, and improving striking (11 subs, 5 KOs).
Moving up from 155 due to weight cut toll, this debut
at 170 could make him the 11th two-division champ
and tie Anderson Silva's 16-win streak.
However,
consensus favors Makhachev's experience in big spots.
Analysis:
Della Maddalena thrives in chaos with heart and pace,
but Makhachev's technical superiority on the mat could
overwhelmespecially if he exploits any ground
vulnerabilities. Experts like Israel Adesanya predict
a brutal Della Maddalena finish via strikes, while
Dan Hooker backs the Aussie for size/strength edges.
Prediction:
Makhachev by submission (Rd 3). He neutralizes the
power puncher early and grinds out a tap for dual-division
glory.
Women's
Flyweight Championship: Valentina Shevchenko (c) (-135)
vs. Weili Zhang (+115)
Valentina Shevchenko (24-4-1, Kyrgyzstan, 37 years
old):
Two-time flyweight champ with a 14-1-1 UFC record
at 125 lbs (10-1-1 in title fights). Avenged her only
divisional loss (to Alexa Grasso in 2023) last year;
recent UD win over Manon Fiorot at UFC 315.
A muay thai master with surgical counters, clinch
work, and cardio (7 KOs, 2 subs), she's eyeing a tie
for most women's UFC title wins (10, with Amanda Nunes).
Weili
Zhang (26-3, China, 36 years old): Two-time strawweight
queen (10-2 UFC) moving up for her first flyweight
title shot. Reclaimed gold at UFC 281 via sub over
Carla Esparza; recent UDs over Amanda Lemos, Yan Xiaonan,
and Tatiana Suarez. Explosive wrestler-striker with
raw power (12 KOs, 7 subs), undefeated at 125 except
vs. Rose Namajunas (0-2 overall). This "superfight"
pits her physicality against elite technique.
Analysis:
Near pick'em odds reflect a clash of erasShevchenko's
precision vs. Zhang's aggression and size advantage
at flyweight. Zhang's strawweight dominance translates
via strength, but Bullet's counters could punish rushes.
Previews call it a potential career-definer, with
stoppage risks high.
Prediction:
Shevchenko by decision. Her technical edge and home-division
comfort edges out Zhang's debut power in a five-round
chess match.
Welterweight:
Sean Brady (+139) vs. Michael Morales (-119)
Sean
Brady (18-1, USA, 32 years old): Grappling wizard
on a three-fight skid after his lone loss to Belal
Muhammad. Subbed Leon Edwards (Rd 4) on short notice
in London earlier this year for a bonus; 12-1 UFC
with suffocating top control (12 subs).
Michael
Morales (18-0, Ecuador, 25 years old): Undefeated
phenom with four UFC finishes (all first-round KOs
lately over Neil Magny and Gilbert Burns). Athletic
finisher (16 KOs) hungry for top-5 entry.
Analysis:
Morales' KO streak meets Brady's elite wrestling;
a title eliminator where ground game vs. standup decides.
X buzz favors Morales' youth/momentum.
Prediction:
Morales by KO (Rd 2). His power overwhelms if Brady
can't chain takedowns.
Welterweight:
Leon Edwards (+165) vs. Carlos Prates (-195)
Leon
Edwards (22-4, England, 34 years old): Ex-champ on
a two-fight skid after losing gold at UFC 296 (two
years ago). 12-3 UFC with crisp boxing and distance
management (10 KOs); needs a rebound to rebuild confidence.
Carlos
Prates (20-6, Brazil, 32 years old): Rising KO artist
with five straight UFC first-round stoppages (incl.
Geoff Neal at UFC 319), but recent UD loss to Ian
Garry. Muay thai sniper (17 KOs) chasing contention.
Analysis:
Prates' blitz could end it quick, but Edwards' IQ
shines in later rounds. Betting tips highlight over
2.5 rounds value.
Prediction:
Prates by KO (Rd 1). His power exploits Edwards' recent
rust.
Lightweight:
Beneil Dariush (+162) vs. Benoit Saint Denis (-187)
Beneil
Dariush (22-6-1, USA/Iran, 36 years old): Veteran
grappler (9-2 in last 11) with recent UD over Renato
Moicano at UFC 317. Durable with slick subs (12 total),
eyeing top-10 return.
Benoit
Saint Denis (14-3, France, 29 years old): 7-2 UFC,
snapped skid with back-to-back subs (over Mauricio
Ruffy and at UFC 315). Aggressive finisher (10 KOs/subs)
with cardio.
Analysis:
Dariush's experience vs. BSD's momentum; previews
predict a grappling war turning violent.
Prediction:
Saint Denis by sub (Rd 2). Youth and pressure seal
the comeback.

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya on record
re UFC 322 Welterweight Main Event:
Jack
Della Maddalena vs Islam Makhachev
Im
not trying to count Islam out, but knowing Jack, I
know that when Jack keeps getting up, its going
to be a problem Adesanya
Islams
going to be forced to strike, and when he does, hes
going to get hurt. I think Islams the best of
the Dagestanis, one of the best fighters in history
but
if Dustin was able to get up and stop his submissions,
Ive seen it live what [Volkanovski] can do with
Islam in Perth.
Thats
how I know [Jack] is going to hurt Islam. Islam will
be able to get him down, but not for long. Stuffed
from the beginning, to the middle, until Jack ends
it at the end
I
really think Jack Della Maddalena has the skills to
stifle Islams game and just put it on the feet,
knock him out. Might be second round.

UFC's
Jon Anik On Zhang Weili
Its
hard to put it in context compared to say, what Amanda
Nunes has done. But the 115-pound division that [Joanna
Jedrzecjzyk] built has been the best womens
division, Anik on Weili vs. Shevchenko.
If
Zhang Weili, who successfully defended the belt four
times across two reigns in that division moves up
and beats Valentina, with respect to my friend [Amanda],
Zhang Weili would be the greatest of all-time, for
me.
And
if Valentina wins this fight, shes got a great

it sounds silly for the play-by-play guy to say theyre

Wanderlei
Silva suffers fractured nose in postfight brawl
Wanderlei
Silva, one of the most popular figures of early mixed
martial arts, received treatment at a hospital Saturday
after he was knocked out in the aftermath of an exhibition
boxing match in Sao Paulo.
Silva,
49, was disqualified in the fourth round for throwing
illegal headbutts against 50-year-old Acelino Freitas.
Immediately after the bout, members of both fighters'
camps entered the ring and started an ugly postfight
brawl. During the scuffle, Silva got hit with a right
hand and crumpled violently to the floor. Brazilian
media identified Silva's attacker as Freitas' son,
Rafael.
Silva's
cornerman and former UFC champion Fabricio Werdum
later posted on social media that Silva suffered a
fractured nose from the punch and received facial
stitches. He was released following treatment.
"The
images don't lie," Werdum said in Portuguese
on social media. "It was so evil for that guy
to punch Wanderlei. He punched the back of the head
of Wanderlei. I don't know if it landed clean, but
it could have been something very serious."
Acelino
Freitas, a former boxing champion, blamed Silva's
corner for the brawl -- namely Werdum, who threw a
series of punches at Freitas and other members of
his team before Silva got knocked out.
"When
the fight ended, the referee disqualified Wanderlei
for the three headbutts, his coach went after me and
punched me," Freitas said on social media. "Wanderlei,
the fight was between you and me and had nothing to
do with the team. If you headbutted me, cool, I don't
care. But unfortunately, Werdum cowardly entered the
ring with your son and went all over everybody. And
I saw that someone also punched you."
Neither
the Brazilian National Boxing Council nor the promotion,
Spaten Fight Night, announced any immediate discipline.
In a statement, Spaten Fight Night said the events
did not represent its values of "sportsmanship
and respect to the rules."
The
boxing match was Silva's first since he retired from
MMA in 2018. He was supposed to face fellow Brazilian
MMA legend Vitor Belfort, but Belfort withdrew and
was replaced by Freitas on less than one month's notice.
The bout was scheduled for eight rounds. Silva weighed
in 44 pounds heavier than Freitas for the exhibition.

WWE Star Shotzi On Ronda Rousey In Pro Wrestling
Asked
about Rousey during an interview with TMZ, former
WWE star Shotzi Blackheart stated that she enjoyed
her time in the ring with the UFC star.
"She
was always so cool," Blackheart said of Rousey.
"She would invite me to her house to come train
with her and she was always down to take the most
brutal bumps. Especially [during] our pay-per-view
match, she was taking some crazy bumps for me."
"I'm
a big Ronda fan," Blackheart continued. "I
will forever be so proud to say, 'Hey, I wrestled
Ronda Rousey in a pay-per-view for the f**king championship.'
You can't take that away from me."
When
asked if Rousey hit harder than other opponents because
of her MMA background, Blackheart denied that to be
the case. There was one exception to that, as Blackheart
said that Rousey's judo throws hurt because they were
real.
Overall,
Blackheart indicated that working with the rest of

being in WWE. After being released by the company
in May, Blackheart has made her return to the independent

Fighters Banned for Life
The
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) maintains a strict
code of conduct, anti-doping policies, and zero-tolerance
stance on criminal behavior, leading to lifetime bans
for several fighters over the years. These bans are
typically enforced by UFC President Dana White, the
Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), or anti-doping
agencies like USADA (now CSAD). While some fighters
have been released or suspended without a formal "lifetime"
label, the following list compiles the most notable
cases of permanent bans from competing in the UFC,
based on documented incidents.
Note
that a few (like Wanderlei Silva) have had bans partially
lifted over time, but they remain ineligible or have
retired.
Year
Banned
Reason for Ban
Key Details & Aftermath
Randy
Couture
2007
Contract disputes, public criticism of UFC management,
and association with rival promotion Xtreme Fighting
Championships (XFC).
The
Hall of Famer and two-division champion was effectively
persona non grata with Dana White. He returned in
2011 after reconciliation but retired shortly after.
Rousimar
Palhares
2013
Refusing to release submissions after the referee
stopped fights (e.g., heel hook on Mike Pierce at
UFC Fight Night 29).
Known
as a "heel hook specialist," his unsportsmanlike
conduct led to a swift release. He competed in other
promotions like WSOF but was later suspended for doping
elsewhere.
War
Machine (Jon Koppenhaver)
2014
Severe criminal assault on ex-girlfriend Christy Mack,
resulting in a 19-year prison sentence.
Banned immediately after his arrest; his prior controversial
comments and behavior sealed the decision. He's serving
time and unlikely to fight again.
Paul
Daley ("Semtex")
2010
Post-fight sucker punch to Josh Koscheck at UFC 113.
The British striker was cut and banned on the spot
by White during the press conference. He thrived in
Bellator, winning their welterweight title.
Jason
"Mayhem" Miller
2012
Backstage altercation after UFC 146 loss to C.B. Dollaway,
plus prior incidents like invading a rival's gym.
The TUF alum's chaotic personality led to the ban.
He fought sporadically in Bellator and Japan before
retiring.
Thiago
Silva
2014
Fleeing a random drug test and domestic violence allegations
(charges later dropped, but UFC acted swiftly).
The
Brazilian light heavyweight was NSAC-banned for life
initially; he fought in other promotions like PFL
but retired in 2020.
Wanderlei
Silva
2014
Refusal to comply with NSAC drug testing and evading
investigators.
The PRIDE legend's ban was reduced to 2 years by CAS
in 2015, but he never returned to UFC, retiring in
2017 after a Bellator stint.
Ruslan
Magomedov
2018
Multiple USADA doping violations (third failed test)
and refusal to provide a sample.
The Russian heavyweight became the first lifetime
USADA ban recipient, ending his UFC career after just
four fights.
Nick
Diaz
2015
Third marijuana violation under NSAC rules, leading
to a 5-year suspension; UFC extended to lifetime ban.
The Stockton star's ban was lifted in 2021, allowing
his return at UFC 266 (he lost to Robbie Lawler).
Not truly permanent anymore.
Matt
Riddle
2013
Positive marijuana test post-UFC release, coupled
with controversial comments about using it to avoid
"beating his children."
White publicly vowed never to rehire the wrestler-turned-MMA
fighter, who transitioned to WWE before being released
there in 2023.

UFC
Betting: Taira vs Park
Betting
Odds (via BetOnline, as of July 30, 2025):
Tatsuro
Taira: -355 (favorite)
Hyun
Sung Park: +280 (underdog)
Fighter
Breakdown:
Tatsuro
Taira (16-1, No. 6 ranked UFC flyweight):Age: 25,
Height: 57, Reach: 70, Orthodox
stance.
Taira
is a well-rounded fighter with strong grappling (2.35
takedowns per 15 minutes, 2.09 submission attempts
per fight) and sharp striking. Hes coming off
a close split-decision loss to Brandon Royval in October
2024, his first career defeat, but showed resilience
with a career-high six takedowns.
Previously,
Taira won his first six UFC fights, including knockouts
and submissions, with notable victories over Alex
Perez and Carlos Hernandez. His experience in five-round
fights and full training camp give him an edge.
Analysts
favor Taira due to his elite grappling, durability
(never been knocked out), and ability to mix striking
with takedowns. Predictions lean toward a stoppage
win, likely via submission after a knockdown.
Hyun
Sung Park (10-0):Age: 29, Height: 57,
Reach: 66, Orthodox stance.
Park
is an undefeated prospect with nine finishes in ten
fights (five submissions, four knockouts). He won
Road to UFC in 2023 and has three UFC finishes, including
a recent first-round submission over Carlos Hernandez
in March 2025.
Park
steps in on short notice, replacing Amir Albazi, and
was preparing for a three-round fight against Steve
Erceg. This is his first five-round bout, and his
cardio for 25 minutes is untested. His aggressive
grappling and finishing instinct make him dangerous,
but hes facing a significant step-up in competition.
Some
analysts note Parks opportunistic style and
killer instinct could pose a threat if Taira gets
into trouble, as he has in past fights.
Betting
Analysis:
Moneyline:
Taira at -355 implies a 78% chance of victory, reflecting
his experience and versatility. Park at +280 offers
value for an upset, given his finishing ability, but
the short-notice switch and five-round format favor
Taira.
Props
and Predictions:
Taira
to Win by Submission: A strong bet given Tairas
grappling prowess and Parks tendency to engage
in grappling exchanges. Tairas submission prop
is often recommended due to his 2.09 submission attempts
per fight.
Fight
to End Inside the Distance: Park has only gone the
distance once, and Tairas last five fights have
seen four stoppages. The under 3.5 rounds prop could
be worth considering, especially if Taira capitalizes
early.
Upset
Potential: Parks +280 odds are tempting for
risk-takers, as his explosive style could catch Taira,
who has shown vulnerability in fights (e.g., absorbing
130+ strikes against Royval). However, Parks
lack of five-round experience and Tairas preparation
make an upset less likely.
Sentiment
on X: Posts on X heavily favor Taira, with bettors
citing his battle-tested nature and elite grappling
against Parks untested five-round stamina. Some
see Park as a live underdog due to his finishing ability,
but most lean toward Taira winning decisively.
Recommendation:
Safe
Bet: Taira ML (-355) or Taira by submission for conservative
bettors, given his experience and grappling advantage.
Value
Bet: Park at +280 for those willing to take a risk
on his finishing ability, especially if the fight
stays standing early.
Prop
Bet: Taira to win inside the distance (+100 or better)
or under 3.5 rounds, as both fighters have high finish
rates, and Tairas preparation could overwhelm
Park.
Note:
Odds are subject to change as the fight approaches.

wrestlers and the staff and I was like, I like
this. I like it a lot.
And

put the blockers on that a little bit. I thought maybe
theyd let me throw one or two punches, but they
didnt let me. But I would absolutely

Rogan on GSP
He
was always learning, Rogan said. He would
go with all the Greg Jackson guys [in Albuquerque,
New Mexico], go to Wild Card [with Freddie Roach in
Las Vegas] and train his boxing. He realized
that gymnasts are so powerful and they have such control
over their body. He was like well Im going
to get better control over my body, so he learned
how to do backflips and *hit (from gymnasts).
You know whats really crazy about him?
Rogan said. He still does the same thing. Hes
really a martial artist. He comes to Austin all the
time to train with John Danaher and Gordon Ryan. Hes
here all the time. I see him every couple months,
then hell go somewhere else to train, then hell
go somewhere else to train. No desire to fight. He
doesnt want to fight anymore at all. Hes
just a martial artist. Hes so happy and content.
Hes one of the best examples of a guy who retired
with millions in the bank and is living his best life.
Hes a real martial artist. Why would you come
here and train with Gordon Ryan? Why would you train
with that *ucking animal if youre not thinking
about competing. For him its all about growing.

UFC
315: Betting
UFC
315, set for May 10, 2025, at the Bell Centre in Montreal,
Canada, features a stacked card with two title fights
and several high-profile matchups. Below is a breakdown
of the betting odds for the main card, based on the
latest available data, along with insights for bettors.
Odds are subject to change as fight night approaches,
so check reputable sportsbooks like BetMGM, DraftKings,
or Bovada for real-time updates.
Main Card Betting Odds
The
following odds are compiled from sources like Forbes,
BetMGM, and Sportsbook Review, reflecting opening
or early fight week lines as of May 2025.
Welterweight
Championship: Belal Muhammad (c) vs. Jack Della Maddalena
Muhammad: -220 to -250 (favorite)
Della Maddalena: +180 to +200 (underdog)
Betting
Insight: Muhammad, the champion, is favored due to
his 11-fight unbeaten streak and wrestling-heavy style,
which could neutralize Della Maddalenas striking.
Muhammads ability to control fights on the ground
(4.39 significant strikes per minute, 43% accuracy)
makes him a safer bet for a decision victory. However,
Della Maddalenas 7-0 UFC record and knockout
power (four Performance of the Night bonuses)
offer value for an upset via KO. Consider Muhammad
by decision or Della Maddalena by KO for prop bets.
Womens
Flyweight Championship: Valentina Shevchenko (c) vs.
Manon Fiorot
Shevchenko: +100 to +130 (underdog)
Fiorot: -122 to -155 (favorite)
Betting
Insight: Fiorot is a slight favorite due to her 7-0
UFC record and recent dominant wins over Rose Namajunas
and Erin Blanchfield. However, Shevchenkos championship
experience (9-1-1 in title fights) and technical striking
make her a compelling underdog pick at plus money.
Bettors should lean toward Shevchenko for a decision
win, as her cardio and fight IQ could outlast Fiorot
in a five-rounder.
Bantamweight:
José Aldo vs. Aiemann Zahabi
Aldo: -180 to -220 (favorite)
Zahabi: +150 to +180 (underdog)
Betting
Insight: Aldo, a former featherweight king, remains
a favorite despite being 37, thanks to his striking
precision and takedown defense (stuffed all 16 attempts
by Merab Dvalishvili). Zahabi, fighting in his hometown
of Montreal, has won five straight, showcasing strong
striking and takedown defense against Pedro Munhoz.
Aldo is the safer bet to win by decision, but Zahabis
momentum and crowd support make him a live underdog
for an upset.
Womens
Flyweight: Alexa Grasso vs. Natália Silva
Grasso: +170 to +185 (underdog)
Silva: -205 to -225 (favorite)
Betting
Insight: Silvas 6-0 UFC run and dynamic striking
(including a spinning back kick KO) make her a deserved
favorite. Grasso, coming off a lackluster title loss
to Shevchenko, faces a tough stylistic matchup against
Silvas speed and versatility. Silva by decision
or KO is a solid pick, but Grassos experience
could keep it competitive, offering value for a decision
prop if she survives early exchanges.
Lightweight:
Benoît Saint Denis vs. Joel Alvarez (Note: This
fight was reportedly scratched per some sources, but
odds are included based on earlier data.)
Saint Denis: -298 (favorite)
Alvarez: +240 (underdog)
Betting
Insight: If this fight remains on the card, Saint
Denis is a heavy favorite due to his aggressive grappling
and finishing ability. Alvarez, a submission specialist,
is a dangerous underdog but struggles against wrestlers.
Saint Denis by submission or decision is the likely
outcome, though Alvarezs +240 odds tempt risk-takers
for a submission upset. Confirm the fight status before
betting.
Preliminary
Card Highlights
The
prelims feature several Canadian fighters, adding
local interest. Key odds and picks include:
Mike
Malott (-145) vs. Charles Radtke (+125): Malott, a
Canadian, is favored to win by decision in a striker
vs. grappler matchup. Radtkes recent KO win
makes him a value underdog.
Navajo
Stirling (-265) vs. Ivan Erslan (+225): Stirlings
kickboxing background favors him for a decision win,
but Erslans grappling could shift live betting
odds if he secures takedowns.
Brad
Katona (+150) vs. Bekzat Almakhan (-175): Katona,
another Canadian, offers underdog value against Almakhan,
who struggled against elite competition. Katona by
decision is a smart pick.
Betting
Tips
Moneyline
Bets: Focus on favorites like Muhammad and Silva for
safer returns, but sprinkle underdog bets on Shevchenko
(+130) and Zahabi (+180) for higher payouts.
Prop
Bets: Look for decision props on Muhammad, Shevchenko,
and Aldo, as their fights are likely to go the distance.
Della Maddalena by KO (+300 or better) is a high-risk,
high-reward option.
Live
Betting: UFC 315s close matchups (e.g., Shevchenko
vs. Fiorot) make live betting ideal. Watch for momentum
shifts, especially in fights involving Canadians like
Zahabi or Katona, where crowd energy could play a
role.
Sportsbooks:
Compare odds at Bovada, BetMGM, or DraftKings for
the best value. Bovada offers a 100% match bonus up
to $1,000 with promo code BV1000.

Dvalishvili

Pound
For Pound/P4P Rankings
Here's
an overview of the current MMA pound-for-pound (P4P)
rankings based on the latest available information:
Islam
Makhachev appears to be leading the pack in P4P rankings,
having solidified his position through recent performances,
including a victory over Dustin Poirier and a title
defense against Renato Moicano. His status as the
UFC lightweight champion and recent activity contribute
to his top ranking.
Alex
Pereira has seen a significant rise in the rankings,
particularly after his impressive performances in
the light heavyweight division, including title defenses
against Jamahal Hill and Jiri Prochazka. He's often
cited as a top contender for the P4P number one spot.
Jon
Jones remains a prominent figure in the P4P discussions,
although his ranking has been a point of contention
due to inactivity and the nature of his opponents.
Despite this, his heavyweight title win and successful
defense against Stipe Miocic keep him in the conversation,
albeit with some debate over his exact placement.
Ilia
Topuria has made waves in the featherweight division
with his knockout victories over former champions,
positioning him as a strong contender in the P4P rankings.
There's speculation about him potentially becoming
the next P4P king due to his performances and the
potential for further title defenses or moving up
in weight classes.
Alexander
Volkanovski was previously ranked at the top of many
P4P lists but has seen some fluctuation after his
loss to Makhachev and subsequent performances. However,
his consistent excellence in the featherweight division
keeps him in the upper echelons of P4P rankings.
Alexandre
Pantoja has been a dominant flyweight champion, yet
there seems to be a debate about his P4P ranking,
often due to the perception of the flyweight division's
strength. Despite his consistent title defenses, he's
sometimes ranked lower than might be expected based
on his achievements.
Tom
Aspinall has been making a case for himself in the
heavyweight division with quick finishes and a notable
interim championship, but his P4P ranking seems to
be debated, possibly due to the nature of the heavyweight
class in P4P assessments.
Merab
Dvalishvili has climbed the rankings with his dominant
performances in the bantamweight division, especially
after his victory over Umar Nurmagomedov, which has
led to discussions about his P4P standing.
Belal
Muhammad and Dricus du Plessis are also noted for
their performances, with Muhammad's win over Leon
Edwards catapulting him into the P4P conversation,
while du Plessis has made significant moves with his
title win.
Remember,
P4P rankings can vary slightly across different platforms
and panels due to subjective interpretations of what
constitutes "pound for pound" excellence.
These rankings reflect a snapshot based on the sources
provided, which can change with new fights and performances.

UFC
GOATS
The
discussion on who qualifies as the "Greatest
of All Time" (GOAT) in UFC often varies based
on different criteria like achievements, records,
dominance, and impact on the sport. Here's a breakdown
of some of the most frequently mentioned fighters
across various weight classes and their notable accolades:
Jon
Jones: Widely considered one of the top GOAT candidates,
particularly in the light heavyweight division. His
record includes multiple title defenses, unmatched
longevity as champion, and a transition to heavyweight
where he also won the title. However, his legacy is
controversial due to issues outside the cage, including
failed drug tests.
Anderson
Silva: Known as "The Spider," he holds the
record for the longest win streak in UFC history with
16 consecutive victories and 10 successful title defenses
in the middleweight division. His unique fighting
style and flair made him a fan favorite, though his
later career was marred by performance-enhancing drug
issues.
Georges
St-Pierre (GSP): Often cited as the GOAT of the welterweight
division, GSP is admired for his technical skill,
sportsmanship, and success across two weight classes
(welterweight and middleweight). He has one of the
highest title defense records in the welterweight
division.
Khabib
Nurmagomedov: He retired undefeated with a record
of 29-0, including 11 submission wins. His dominance
in the lightweight division, particularly his grappling
and wrestling prowess, has led many to consider him
the GOAT in his weight class.
Demetrious
Johnson: Known as "Mighty Mouse," he's celebrated
for his technical mastery and holds the record for
the most consecutive title defenses in the flyweight
division with 11 defenses. His versatility in finishing
fights has earned him significant respect.
Amanda
Nunes: Referred to as the "Lioness," she's
widely regarded as the GOAT in women's MMA, having
dominated both the bantamweight and featherweight
divisions. Her record includes defeating multiple
champions and legends in the sport.
Jose
Aldo: Before his loss to Conor McGregor, Aldo was
the dominant force in the featherweight division,
with a notable winning streak and championship defenses.
His legacy is debated due to his performance post-McGregor,
but his early career achievements are undeniable.
These
fighters are often highlighted in GOAT discussions,
but the conversation is always dynamic with new contenders
emerging and different eras of fighters being compared.
Each fighter brings a unique contribution to UFC's
history, and the GOAT debate often reflects personal
criteria for greatness in the sport. (Grok)

Aspinall's
Quack Attack: The Rubber Duck Trolling at UFC London
At
UFC London, Tom Aspinall, the interim UFC Heavyweight

way of suggesting that Jones might be 'ducking' a
fight with him, sparking widespread amusement and
discussion among fans. The stunt not only highlighted
Aspinall's trolling nature but also fueled the ongoing
narrative of a potential super-fight between the two

defense, the pressure mounts on Jones, with figures
like Michael Bisping suggesting he should either fight

added a light-hearted yet competitive twist to the

News
Mexican
Independence Day News via Grok
Mexican
Independence Day is celebrated on September 16th every
year, commemorating the beginning of the Mexican War
of Independence from Spain in 1810. Here are some
key points about this significant celebration:
El
Grito de Dolores: The celebration typically begins
on the evening of September 15th with "El Grito,"
a reenactment of the famous cry for independence by
Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a priest who called for
the end of Spanish rule in the early morning of September
16, 1810. This event takes place in Dolores Hidalgo,
Guanajuato, and is also reenacted by the President
of Mexico from the National Palace in Mexico City.
Celebrations:
The festivities include fireworks, parades, parties,
and patriotic events. The Mexican flag is prominently
displayed, and there are often military parades, especially
in larger cities.
Food
and Drink: Traditional Mexican foods like chiles en
nogada (which represent the colors of the Mexican
flag), mole, tamales, and traditional drinks like
atole or tequila are commonly enjoyed during this
time.
Cultural
Significance: Unlike Cinco de Mayo, which commemorates
the Mexican Army's victory over the French Empire
at the Battle of Puebla, Mexican Independence Day
is a celebration of the country's independence from
Spain, marking a pivotal moment in Mexican history
and national identity.
Parades
and Festivities: The day of September 16th itself
is filled with parades, music, dancing, and cultural
performances. Schools, towns, and cities organize
events to celebrate this national holiday.
If
you're interested in how this year's celebrations
might differ due to recent events or changes, or if
there are any special events planned for 2024, I'd
need to check more recent sources. Would you like
me to look that up for you? (Grok)

SURVIVOR
SERIES NEWS: NXT stars debut in PPV main event angle,
plus other news from annual PPV - 18th November 2012
--
NXT champion Seth Rollins (formerly Tyler Black),
Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns debuted on WWE TV by
attacking Ryback and preventing him from capturing
the WWE Title in the Survivor Series PPV main event.
Rollins,
Ambrose, and Reigns were identified by announcer Michael
Cole as being from the NXT Developmental system. After
they took out Ryback via powerbomb through the Spanish
announce table, Punk pinned John Cena, who had received
Shell Shock from Ryback before Ryback was taken out
by the NXT trio.
--
No titles changed hands during the PPV. In the other
top title match, Sheamus beat Big Show via DQ after
Show pulled referee Scott Armstrong in the way of
a Brogue Kick. Sheamus then delivered a massive beat
down to Show using a chair, which likely sets up a
World Title re-match at the TLC PPV next month.
--
In the other title matches, Antonio Cesaro retained
the U.S. Title over Kofi Kingston and Eve retained
the Divas Title over Kaitlyn.
--
In the top Survivor Series elimination match, Dolph
Ziggler pinned Randy Orton to be the sole survivor
for Team Ziggler over Team Foley. Earlier in the show,
WWE teased tension between Orton and Mick Foley, playing
up their historical feud from Orton's early days.
Also earlier in the show, David Otunga was named as
Cody Rhodes's replacement on Team Ziggler following
Rhodes's injury at last week's Smackdown TV taping.
--
Tamina, who recently trained with The Rock, returned
to WWE TV as Vickie Guerrero's hired bodyguard. The
set-up was that A.J. Lee noted that if Vickie places
her hands on her, then Vickie will be removed as interim
Raw authority figure. Tamina then blindsided A.J.
and Superfly Splashed her to establish her new role
as Vickie's enforcer (Pro
Wrestling Torch)

News Flashback
Brock
Lesnar vs Jon 'Bones' Jones being speculated by sports
media commentators; Will WWE top brass make it happen
for WrestleMania
For
months there's been speculation running rampant about
the potential match up of Brock Lesnar aka 'The Beast'
vs Jon 'Bones' Jones.
Due
to Jones recent drug testing fail it would appear
that the obvious place for the match up to happen
would be under the WWE umbrella, and what better event
to have it take place than WrestleMania.
WWE
is always looking for unique, high interest (and grossing)
main event matches, and there's little doubt that
this dream match would draw massive publicity, and
would certainly help sell out an arena (and boost
WWE Network subscriber numbers at the same time).
Would
the risk of booking such a dream match be worth the
potential risk and payoff? Only a few select top brass
in the WWE would know, those individuals would be
the likes of Vince McMahon and Triple H. Pat Patterson
would possibly be in the decision making also, and
could very well help book the match, should it be
scripted, as all WWE matches are. Or, would the WWE
just have these men fight for real? Problem is if
its for real, as the WWF Brawl For All was, both men
could get seriously hurt and be out of action for
many months. Then again, both men would be part-times
and are special attractions, so it's not like they
have to be out on the road going to arena to arena,
following such a bout.
There's
also talk whether UFC / MMA sensation Conor McGregor
may seriously look at one or more matches under the
WWE banner no matter what the result from his clash
with Floyd 'Money' Mayweather, who is not a stranger
to the WWE ring, having previously fought and beat
'The Big Show' at WrestleMania 24.
It's
certainly interesting times for the WWE / Sports Entertainment
- MMA - Boxing connection.
Let's
all hope that a Lesnar vs Jones and the upcoming McGregor
vs Mayweather fight surpass the infamous Ali vs Inoki
match from 1976.
As
Bruce Buffer says, Let's get ready to rumble. Let's
now cross to ringside with Mauro Ranallo for the call
of the action.
